Safeguard your account and device
1. Why do I see a message that asks me to secure my mobile device while I am accessing CCB (HK&MO) Mobile App or CCB(Asia) Business Mobile App?
If you see this message, it means that our Bank has detected from your mobile device that your mobile device had installed app(s) that are not downloaded from the official app stores and it has ‘Accessibility’ settings turned on. This may allow scammers to take control of your mobile device. To safeguard your account, your access to CCB (HK&MO) Mobile App or CCB(Asia) Business Mobile App will be restricted.
2. If I receive the message in Question 1 above, can I still use CCB (HK&MO) Mobile App or CCB(Asia) Business Mobile App?
You may choose to take the following actions to resume normal use of our Bank's applications:
  • Uninstall the malware app(s) or side-loaded app(s) from your mobile device (recommended); or
  • Turn off the "Accessibility" settings in the malware app(s) or side-loaded app(s).
3. If I have not received such a message, does it mean that my mobile device is 100% secure?
While this security feature may detect malware activity with a high degree of accuracy, no security feature is foolproof. As scammers become more sophisticated in their operations, customers need to be careful of the type of apps you install and the permissions you enable on your mobile device. Use the latest versions of operating system, applications and browser.

Check out our Security Alertswebpage to be aware of the latest security threats.
4. Will I still be eligible to use CCB (HK&MO) Mobile App or CCB(Asia) Business Mobile App if apps which are believed to be potentially risky by the Bank were identified on my mobile device?
You may turn off the ‘Accessibility’ settings for the identified apps on your mobile device if you trust the identified apps are safe, in order to be eligible to use CCB (HK&MO) Mobile App or CCB(Asia) Business Mobile App.
To set, change or turn off the ‘Accessibility’ settings, you may go to Settings > Accessibility > Installed apps on your mobile device. You may refer to Question 7 to understand more about the 'Accessibility’ settings on some popular device models.
